Modesto, CA - Robert William Coulbourne, Jr.,48, known as "Chucky" to his family and friends died Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at his home in Modesto, Ca.
Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Robert William, Sr. and Mildred (Trader) Coulbourn.
He was a 1983 graduate of James M. Bennett Senior High School where he excelled in track and field.
He relocated to California in 1995 and became employed as a CNA with the University of California San Francisco Medical Center (UCSF) in San Francisco, CA. He was a member of #250 Local Union of Hospital Workers.
He attended the House of Modesto Church in California.
His survivors include his wife of nineteen years, Ramona Collins Coulbourn of Modesto; two daugthers: Tess Coulbourn of Modesto and Kristina Collins of Baltimore; three sons: Janile Coulbourn of Salisbury, Byron (Jolanda) Coulbourn and Melvin (Adrienne) Watson, all of Clovis, N.M.; two grandsons: Isaiah and Joseph Watson; four sisters: Darlene C. Drummond, Janet Bowen, Lynn Butts and Andrea (Chrissy) Brown; two brothers: Pat Sims and Ronald Lee Smith; four nephews: Daniel J. Bowen (DJ), Aaron Johnson (AJ), Isaiah and Jeremiah Brown and two special friends: Eddie Jernnigan and Heath Buren.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2014 at St. Paul A.M.E. Zion Church in Salisbury. Interment will be held 12:00 noon, Monday, January 13, 2014 at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Friends may call Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury on Friday evening from 6- 8 p.m. and on Saturday, at the church, one hour prior to service.
