Berlin – Robinson "Pinky" Brittingham, Jr., 71 died Monday, September 9, 2013 at his Flower Street home in Berlin, Maryland.
Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Robinson Brittingham, Sr. and Winifred (Purnell) Brittingham Peters.
He was a 1960 graduate of the former Worcester High School where he excelled on the basketball team and was class treasurer.
He retired in 1998 from Delmarva Power where he was employed for twenty-five years.
He was a faithful member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Berlin where he was the custodian, caretaker of the cemetery, member of the Trustee Board, Usher Board and Methodist Men.
He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Post #231 in Berlin and the Worcester High School Alumni, Class of 1960.
His survivors include his wife of 51 years Annie Brittingham of Berlin; three children: Robin of Salisbury; Jerome and Tracy Brittingham, both of Berlin; thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two brothers: Carson (Elaine) Brittingham of Rocky Mt., NC and Gary (Mildred) Brittingham; two sisters-in-law: Linda (Oliver) Purnell and Marian Smith; one brother-in-law: Gerald (Gladys) Andrews, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A daughter: Karen Brittingham, a sister: Maybelline Bratten and a brother: Preston Smith preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be held noon, Saturday, September 14, 2013 at St. Paul U.M. Church in Berlin where friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 pm and again on Saturday, one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
