Mardela Springs – Shenekia (Poodie) Lynn Hughes, 33 died, Saturday, January 31, 2015 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Born in Salisbury, she is the daughter of Randall Hughes of Hurlock and Arnitrea Mitchell of Forestville, MD.
She was a 2000 graduate of Central High School in Capitol Heights, MD where she sang in their Concert Choir.
She was a member of Mt. Pleasant AUMP Church in Mardela Springs where she was the morning Worship Leader.
She was a former member of the Somerville Softball Team in Capitol Heights.
She was employed as the nanny for the family of Rev. Michael (Candace) Davis of Baltimore.
Besides her parents, she is survived by a brother: Travar Fields of Snow Hill, MD; maternal grandmother: Ethel Warner of Mardela Springs, MD; paternal grandmother: Viola Hughes of Hurlock, MD; four aunts, six uncles, great aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Mt. Pleasant AUMP Church, 9728 Wallertown Road, Mardela Springs, MD, where friends may view two hours prior to service. Interment will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 9, 2015 at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron, MD.
