Salisbury- Reverend Simeon M. Markland, 94, died Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in Mt. Oliphant, Jamaica (BWI), he was the son of the late Arthur and Lovinia (Sinclair) Markland. His wife, Delcie Mae Markland preceded him in death.
He moved to this area in the late 40's. and was formerly employed with the former W.F. Allen Farms and retired from the former Campbell Soup Co., Inc., both of Salisbury.
In 1982 he became the pastor of the National Church of God located on West Road in Salisbury.
His survivors include three stepsons: Clarence L., Grant M. (Cheryl) and Rev. William S. Johnson, all of Salisbury; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; three nieces: Thelma T. Markland, Merl L. Hayman and Elizabeth Hamilton.
A funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 23, 2014 at the National Church of God in Salisbury where friends may call one hour prior to service. Interment will be held at a later date.
