Wachapreague, VA - Tyvolia Marie "Pinkey" Beach, died Monday, February 16, 2015 at her home in Wachapreague, VA.
Born in Keller, VA, she was the daughter of the late Mary Virginia Francis Wise and Lorenzo Matthews.
She received her formal education in the public schools of Accomack County. Her Christian training was received as a child at Snead's United Methodist Church. She later transferred her membership to Grace Independent Methodist Church in Wachapreague.
"Pinkey," was a "stay at home" mom. Her greatest past time was watching television, conversing on the telephone and babysitting her great grandchildren. She was an avid supporter of the Lakettes softball team where she willingly cared for the team's children as she cheered them on to a victory.
She leaves to cherish loving memories with her husband of 58 years, Rufus T. Beach, Sr.; four children: Rufus, Jr. (Renell) of Accomac, VA; Sadie of Wachapreague, VA, Lorenzo, Sr. (Gloria) of Mardela Springs, MD and Rebecca of Wachapreague, VA; six grandchildren: Erica (Jermaine), Dionthe, Ashley, Lorenzo, Jr., Tyandrea', Rufus III; three step-grandchildren: Tyantha (Willie), Gary (Tricia) and Keisha; thirteen great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law: Gladys Davis, Vie Nedab, Molly (Stanley) Parker; Alice (Marvin) Alexander; two brothers-in-law: Clifton Beach, Sr. and Willard (Patricia) Beach; a special cousin who was reared as her sister: Shirley A. Smith; two devoted friends: Doris Parks and Mary (Peggy) Burton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives, extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2015 at Grace Independent Methodist Church in Wachapreague, VA. Interment will be in Burton's Chapel Independent Methodist Church - 21440 Burton's Church Road - Melfa, VA. Friends may view Thursday evening from 5-7 pm and again on Friday, one hour prior to service.
