Virginia Mae Foreman
God said that he wouldn't give us anymore than we could bear, so God saw you getting tired and called you to be at rest.
On Sunday March 16, 2025, at 2:23 AM at the Macky and Park Stansell House in Berlin, MD, God called 102-year-old Virginia Mae Foreman home.
Virginia Mae was the daughter of William Edward Foreman and Mary Ellen Johnson Foreman, born on May 10, 1922. Virginia attended Cedar Chapel Elementary School in Newark, MD. In her earlier years, Virginia was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and a loving friend. When she was able, she attended Williams A.M.E. Church in Newark, MD. She was a prayer warrior who loved to praise the Lord. Even during her illness, she would still continually praise the lord.
Virginia loved to work. Throughout her years, she worked at Mason's Cannery, Bunting's Nursery, Harrison's Nursery and numerous other places in Ocean City, MD. For her final job, she worked in Ocean City, MD at Comfort Inn until the age of 88. She worked along with her sisters, Gladys Hargis, Naomi Ellison and other family members. Even through her illness she would ask her daughter Elsie how many rooms there were or that she was going to the 2nd floor. Regardless of working on Sundays or not, she was a true Foreman who always had to have dumplings on Sundays.
Virginia leaves to cherish her memories a daughter Elsie Purnell, a son Henry Foreman, a daughter-in-law Inez Foreman, an adopted daughter Niece Lillian Foreman and an adopted son Russell Parker. Sisters Gladys Hargis and Naomi Ellison of Salisbury, MD and Mildred and Iona Foreman of Berlin, MD. A sister-in-law Diane Foreman of Berlin, MD, an Uncle John Foreman of Ironshire, MD. Virginia also leaves four grandchildren, Latina Foreman, Kashara Foreman, Kenneth Foreman Jr. all of Berlin, MD and Kendra Collick of Salisbury, MD. There are also eighteen great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Other than her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by two sons, Wilbert Foreman and Kenneth Foreman, two sisters Irmma Hamond and Helen Foreman, three brothers Willis Foreman, Wardell Foreman and Hurley Foreman, a son-in-law Floyd Purnell, granddaughter Cordia Manuel, and a great-grandson Josiah (Bruce Lee) Foreman and a great-great granddaughter Zariah Foreman.
