Wallace (Duck) Sylvester Bivens, 85 died Saturday, June 20, 2015 at PRMC in Salisbury.
Born in Marion Station, he was the son of the late John and Ardella (Whittington) Bivens. His late wife Bernice Bivens preceded him in 2010.
He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp and served during the Korean War, receiving an honorable discharge.
He was employed with the former Campbell Soup Company. for 28 years, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of Ebenezer U.M. Church near Marumsco, MD where he served on the United Methodist Men, men's choir, trustee board and was a layperson.
His survivors include seven children: Shirley (Michael) Kellum, Donald Whittington, Deborah Whittington-Gilreath, Terry Whittington, Lecia Whittington, Franessa (Adarrin) Smith and Laverne Whittington; four brothers, three sisters, several grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday at New Dimensions Ministries in Salisbury where friends may call one hour prior to service. Interment will be 9:00 am, Monday, June 29, 2015 at Ebenezer U.M. Church Cemetery in Marion Station.
