Obituary
Walter G. (Mac) McClain, Sr., 90 died Thursday, October 23, 2014 at his home on Haven End in Ocean Pines, MD.
Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Gattis and Rosa Alto (Denning) McClain.
He attended Howard University in Washington, DC. In 1943, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving his country during World War II, receiving an honorable discharge in 1947.
Upon his discharge, he made his home in Washington, DC and became employed with CSC (Computer Sciences Corp), retiring in 1985.
After his retirement, he relocated to Ocean Pines, MD.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Lucille J. McClain of (Ocean Pines) Berlin, MD; six children; three sons: Walter, G., Jr., Eric A. (Gail), Sr. and Gary T. McClain; three daughters: Deborah (Jessie) James, Gloria (Gary) Eastep and Alice Parrott and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Jolley Memorial Chapel, 600 Franklin Avenue, Berlin, MD where friends may call one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the Eastern Shore Veteran's Cemetery in Hurlock, Maryland.
