Obituary

Willie Davis Jr. 78, affectionately known as Tootsie of Delmar Delaware, was born October 31, 1943, to Willie Davis Sr. and Adrilla Davis in Thomasville, Georgia. He was also known as "Pop Pop" to his family. Willie was called to his eternal rest on Thursday February 24, 2022, at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, Maryland.

Tootsie received his early years of education at Greenwood School in Maryland. He then went on to high school in Accomac, Virginia. Willie eventually graduated from Fort Richardson Education Center in Anchorage, Alaska. Later in life, he attended Delaware Technical and Community College in Georgetown, Delaware acquiring his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice.

Willie served in the United States Army being stationed in Alaska and serving oversees receiving an Honorary Discharge. He was a former member of Prince Hall Lodge #14 FMA, PHA.

Tootsie was employed as a Weigh Master for a vast number of years until his health forced him into retirement. He also owned and operated Davis Transportation Services. He was skilled, and talented and could do just about anything. He was known as a "Jack of All Trades."

He was a very hardworking, very loving kindhearted man who would give his last to his family and friends in their time of need. His favorite pastimes were talking on the phone to his family and friends keeping up with the latest gossip, watching the old westerns, the news, and old TV shows. He also loved a good card game and at one time had his very own casino. He was a diehard Washington Redskins fan.

Tootsie attended St. John 2nd Baptist Church in Millsboro, DE under the pastorate of Rev. Annie Custis.

In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Ann Hall, and a daughter, Sherita Davis.

Tootsie leaves to cherish a lifetime of special memories one son, Willie Davis III (Cymbaline) of Millsboro, DE; 2 daughters: Sabrina Isler (Donald) of Laurel, DE, and Deedra Hall of Millsboro, DE; 8 grandchildren: Jeffery Taylor Jr (Daisey), Markos Davis, Martias Davis, Myovoni Davis, Donnesha Isler, Kendra Hall, Blair Davis, and Amani Davis; 15 great-grandchildren, a dear friend, Catherine Davis whom he was once married to for over thirty-one years; nieces: Brenda, Keisha, Katina, and Angela; nephews: Elbert, who he referred to as his "first son", Brian, Michael, Wilbert, Douglas, and Clifton, and a host of cousins, other loved ones, and friends.
