Bernice Lee Dutton Ward, the daughter of the late Paul and Edith Dutton, was born on December 20, 1938. She enjoyed growing up in Delmar, Md.
Bernice had an accident in her early teens which kept her in the hospital for an extended period of time. She graduated from Salisbury High School in 1955. She was joined in matrimony with Thomas Ward and moved to Virginia where she studied with Jehovah's Witnesses and was baptized in 1957. She also devoted her life to raising 2 sons and 3 daughters whom she loved unconditionally.
Bernice loved her family, playing cards and good food. But most of all, she loved Jehovah and serving him. She was a humble, loving, caring and outgoing person who dedicated her life to witnessing and striving to serve Jehovah God.

She leaves to cherish her memories one brother: Paul Dutton Jr. and wife Rose of Philadelphia, PA; two daughters: Darlene Ward-Wright of Peachtree Corners, GA, and Myisha Ward Greene and her husband Melvin of Columbia, SC.; two sons: John Ward and his wife Denise of Atlanta, GA, Marvin Ward of Salisbury, MD; nine grandchildren, Raeen Ward of West Haven, CT, Jarred Ward and wife Rose of Jessup, MD, Rhashan McNeil of Newark, NJ, Alfred Ray III of Columbia, SC, Tyra Little Waters of Wilmington, DE, Alicia Ward Edmonds and husband Dwayne of Atlanta, GA, Jasmine Marie Waters of Salisbury, MD, Julian Wright, and Lunden Wright of Peachtree Corners, GA; also, nine great grandkids; Leah Ward, Navaeh Little, Kamyra Hadley, Kaden Waters, Legacy Waters, Donnie Waters, Chance McNeil, Ry'lee McNeil, and Zoey Ward.
