Russell’s Journey
Bishop Russell Lee Camper Sr., 67, of Salisbury, Maryland, departed this life on Saturday, September 11, 2021. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late William David Camper Jr. and Myrtle Elizabeth Price- Camper.
Prior to retiring, he worked for the Campbell Soup Company and Wicomico County Board of Education.
He was a former member of Weeping Mary Full Gospel Baptist Church in Salisbury, Maryland, where he served as a trustee, deacon and minister. At Weeping Mary, Russell was a member of the Baptist Jubilee’s, WMBC Ensemble, and he was the choir director. He was the minister of music for the Full Gospel Conference in the Delmarva area. He received his ministerial license at Weeping Mary, and was subsequently licensed as an elder by the late Bishop Henson F. Brooks.
In January 2000, he founded and established New Covenant Life Full Gospel Ministries. It was commonly known fact, that Russell loved God and God’s people.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife: Charlotte Camper; his children: Kesha Camper (William) Cook, Russell L. (Ryanne) Camper Jr. and Aaron Camper; six grandchildren: Briana Cook, Kayla Cook, William “BJ” Cook, Bronte Hall, Jaelen Camper and Makayla Camper; one great grand-child: Quadir Whitney; two sisters: Priscilla “Janet” (Richard) Lancaster and Wanda Camper; five brothers: William (Marcell) Camper III, Darnell (Angie) Camper, Demetrius (Aysha) Taylor, Jeff White and Lamont Davis; and a HOST of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
