Life’s Reflections
Brenda Carolyn Hitch, daughter of the late William and Christel Hitch was born October 4, 1939, in Salisbury, Maryland. She peacefully departed this earthly life on Thursday, January 19, 2023, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.
She received her education from Salisbury High School in Salisbury, Maryland and Post Education at Apex Beauty Academy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She retired from the Wicomico County Board of Education after working over 35 years of service as a Teacher’s Aide.
Brenda loved family Barbeques at her house, where everyone knew to stay out of her kitchen and out of her way. Her favorite pastime was secretly going to the casino and sitting home watching television and eating pretzels.
She was a devoted mother to her children and clearly loved her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She leaves to mourn four sons: Barry Hitch and Gerald Hitch, Salisbury, Maryland, Keith Hitch, Salt Lake City, Utah, and John Hitch (Lisa) Federalsburg, Maryland; grandchildren: Ashlynn Farrare, Brianna Farrare, Debbie Campbell, Christopher Hitch and Ebony Dozier; fourteen great-grandchildren; two sisters: Christel Wilson, and Shirley Deshields, Salisbury, Maryland, two brothers: Jackie Hitch (Ina), Newark, Delaware, Gerald Hitch (Barbara), Denver, Colorado, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Brenda was preceded in death and now united in heaven with three sisters: Elaine Long, Flossie Hitch and Mary Nicholas; two brothers: Russell Curtis and Robert Hitch.
Brenda’s legacy lives on through the love and dedication she shared with family and friends.
