Carolyn F. Stanley, age 64, of Mardela Springs, Maryland, gained her heavenly dancing shoes, October 26th, 2023, in Salisbury Maryland, surrounded by her family.
Carolyn was born on January 26th, 1959, in Charleston, South Carolina to Lillie Mae Simmons Mitchell and Charles Andrew Mitchell.
Carol, as she was affectionately called, was raised in Delaware. She graduated from Delmar High School and was a member of multiple organizations, clubs and sport teams. After high school she continued her education at Delaware State University, where she completed her bachelor's degree in social work.

Her selfless and kindhearted nature allowed her to have a long career as a social worker helping families across; the District of Columbia, Delaware, and Maryland eastern shore, connecting them with resources and services to care for their loved ones. She retired from Dove Pointe in 2022 after 27 years of service.
Carol's most precious gifts in life were her children and grandchildren, whom she loved to spend most of her time with. She enjoyed getting her hair and nails done, shopping, flowers, collecting African art, cow figurines, spending time with her family creating traditions and precious memories. Some of her favorite pastimes were baking cakes, cooking, listening to music, watching sports or movies, and dancing.
Carolyn's father, Charles Mitchell, greeted her at the pearly gate with the Lord Jesus Christ. She was also preceded in death by her grandmother; Lillian Greene, grandfather, Arthur Smiley, aunts, an uncle, and several cousins.
Carol leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Martin Stanley, Lillian Stanley, grandchildren, Lathan Stanley, Malachi Morris, mother, Lillie Mae Mitchell, sisters; Tammy Byrd, Pamela Robinson, Zelda Robinson, nephew, Mitchell Byrd, niece, Courtney Williams, ex-husband Lentellis G. Psalm 23 (King James Version)
1.The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.
