Life Reflections-He Did It His Way
Mr. Charles Andrew Mitchell ("Bud"/Pop")," 83, from Delmar Delaware, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 1st, 2022, in his home.
Charles was born February 28th, 1939, in Laurel, Delaware, to father, Alfred Cylde Mitchell and mother, Flossie Adaline Allen Mitchell. Charles attended W. C. Jason High School and Delaware Technical and Community College in Agriculture, both located in Georgetown, Delaware. He then took up a trade acquiring his Barber license. Charles achieved PFC E3 status serving his country from July 1962 to November 1967 in the United States Armed Forces (Army) receiving the following Decorations: Good Conduct Medal and Expert (Rifle M-14). Once returning to civilian life after Honorable Discharge Charles worked at Campbell Soup in Salisbury Maryland, Dupont Company Seaford Plant as a machinist in Seaford Delaware retiring after 35 years and later retired from Wal-Mart Supercenter in Salisbury Maryland after 11 years of working in hardware.
Charles was a faithful member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church in Delmar, Delaware, and a member of the American Legion. He also enjoyed spending time with his great-grandchildren, woodworking, maintaining his yard and garden, watching and/or playing a variety of sports, and fixing numerous items.
Charles is survived through his wife, Lillie Mae Simmons Mitchell, his daughters; Carolyn F. Stanley and Tammy S. Byrd, grandchildren, Martin L. Stanley, Lillian-Marie Stanley, and Mitchell Byrd (Samatha), great-grandchildren, Lathan Stanley, Addilyn Byrd, and Malachi Morris; sisters, Gwelda Tull, Naomi Johnson, and Dorothy Barnes; brother, Alfreda Mitchell Jr.; mother in-law, Geneva Lillian Greene, sisters in-law; Geneva Morris (late Leon), Alfreda Cephas (Vincent), Sharon Greene; brother in-law: Edward Simmons (Doris); a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother, father, a host of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and numerous cousins.
