Derek Francis Stallings, 63, affectionately known as “Ricky” died on Monday, October 2, at Anchorage Healthcare Center in Salisbury, Maryland, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 2, 1960, in Crisfield, Maryland, to Robert “Bobby” White and Cora Stallings.
Ricky graduated from Parkside High School and subsequently joined the United States Armed Services in August 1980 and received an honorable discharge in July 1984. He worked several years for The Coca-Cola Company and later became employed by The Standard Register Company until they closed.
Ricky preferred being productive and enjoyed several fun activities, such as reading his comic books, drawing, and tinkering with electronics, remote-controlled cars, airplanes, and helicopters. He enjoyed watching his collections of movies and listening to his favorite music on his vinyl records and cassette tapes. Ricky was ‘old school’ about his music. And he thoroughly and faithfully enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Eagles play. Ricky was easy to be around, and he will be missed by those who loved him.
Ricky leaves to cherish loving memories with his three daughters, DeJuan (Morris) Morrow , Terrell Forbes, and Ariana Stallings; six grandchildren, Kendrick Stallings, Alanna Morrow, De’Mariya Morrow, Daphne Lipson, Tarvanti Lipson Jr., and Brenden Cornish, eleven siblings, Ronnie (Darlene) Stallings, Cheryl Stallings Stanford, Vantine Stallings, Virgil (Sandra) White, Robert (Donna) White, Calvin White, Alvin White, Francis White, Renee McBride, Shelia Waters, and Victoria White (Robert) Davis, sister-in-law, Helen Stallings, aunt, Geneva Collins, uncle, Kenneth White, best friends, Maurice Stewart and Jerry Dix, ex-wife, Pamela Stallings, a host of nieces, nephews, his parents, other extended relatives and friends.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Bobby” White and Cora Stallings; brothers, Tyrone Stallings and Vincent Stallings; brother-in-law, Joe Stanford.
