Douglas' Life Story
Douglas Frank Roberts, 86 of Owings Mills, formerly of Easton, MD, departed this life December 8, 2021, at Bridging Life Hospice in Randallstown, MD. He was born March 15, 1935, to Mary Anna Roberts and Joseph Goings Chase in Easton. He was their oldest child.
Frank was a free spirited individual, always exploring his surroundings. He attended school in Talbot County. Although he had limited education, he educated himself through his desire to travel and the love of cars.
He spent his teen years in Wilmington, Delaware with his father. He worked many odd jobs in Delaware until he made his way to Philadelphia. where he lived with his sister, Doris and her daughter.
In Philadelphia, Frank worked at the Bookbinders Restaurant. He also worked for various car dealerships, detailing cars. Eventually Frank found a job as a Chauffeur and with this job his two loves came together, traveling and cars. He chauffeured for many years, traveling throughout the United States.
Frank was quite the “Ladies Man” and enjoyed the company of many.
Frank accepted the Lord as his personal Savior at an early age. He enjoyed attending church services in Easton, Washington DC and Philadelphia where he frequently visited the New Bethlehem Baptist Church. Everyone knew him as “Uncle Frank.”
Frank loved life and lived it on his own terms. He said he regretted nothing because the Lord always took care of him. Frank loved his family. He would pop up to see them any time without notice. Frank will be missed by all who loved him.
Frank leaves to cherish fond memories with 3 sisters: Valtina Sullivan (Carlette), Peggy Holmes, and JoAnne Tilghman all of Easton; a brother, Olin Roberts (Linda) of Newark, New Jersey; a dedicated niece, Pamela Young of Brookwood, New Jersey; a dedicated nephew, Andre Brooks of Baltimore, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Doris Deshields, Anna Kellem, and Cora Tilghman.
