James Matthew Nutter, Jr. died on December 13th at his home in Hebron, Maryland. He was born on February 24, 1969, to James Matthew Nutter, Sr. and Ethel Juanita Morris Nutter.
He graduated from Mardela High School in 1987, also attending Wicomico Vocational Technical Center with a concentration in Auto Mechanics. He worked in various occupations which included asbestos removal, HVAC, and short/long range truck driving but he found his love and long-term career in pool and spa building. He worked for Smullen Pools, Pool-Tech, and lastly with Sundance Pools. He had numerous certifications, Tech I & II, Biolab Pool Chemistry, Fiberglass Pool Installation, and a CDL License just to name a few, but more importantly, he was recognized for his natural rapport with his customers and his ability to get the job done with excellence.
James was affectionately known to his friends as “Jimmy”, “Jim-Jim”, and “Nutter-Butter.” All who knew him recognized his love for family, friends, and his baby-girl, Jaymey. He had a servant’s heart. It was not out of the ordinary for him to get calls any time of the day or night with requests to help with electrical or automotive repairs or to chauffeur someone to one place or another. He loved his Ravens and was known to grill on game days and provide food to friends and family that were around. He was also known for cooking a “Jimmy style” breakfast for the family after Sunday services that included Eastern Shore favorites like fried white potatoes and scrapple. Jimmy was an avid gardener who used his produce to develop new creations in the kitchen. He was a friend to anyone he met and all who did were blessed to have known him.
Jimmy leaves to cherish his loving memory his daughter, Jaymey A. Nutter of Hebron, MD, step-children William Brown & Richard Robinson of Hickory, NC; his parents, James Matthew, Sr. and Ethel Juanita Nutter of Hebron, MD; sister, Jacqueline “Jackie” Dockery (Leon) of Battleboro, NC; aunts, Tina L. Lockhart (Eddie) of San Antonio, TX, Sheila M. Kilgoe (Quinton) of Salisbury, Maryland; Uncle, Jerome T. Morris (Althea) of Lincoln, DE; great-aunts, Annie Mae Hyland of Middletown, DE, O.
