Jeremiah Arrington Sr.

Jeremiah Arrington Sr. age 82, peacefully departed this earthly life early Monday morning, June 8, 2020, at Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury, MD, where he was a patient. He was born on September 19, 1937 in Halifax, North Carolina to the late Carrie Arrington-Fletcher and the late Walter Brown.

Jeremiah received his formal education at Salisbury High School. His first job was with Shoreland Freezer Company in Salisbury, Maryland. Jeremiah retired from Perdue Processing Plant in Salisbury, Maryland, where he was employed for forty-three years.

Jeremiah was community-minded, and he helped others whenever he could. He was a dedicated and active member of the Queens City Lodge No. 1051, located in Salisbury, Maryland, where he held the position of Trustee. He was proud of his involvement with his Lodge brothers.

Affectionately known as “Daddy Cool” or “Cool” by family and friends, Jeremiah had a thriving DJ Service, which provided entertainment through music for all types of celebrations.  He traveled all across the Eastern Shore helping people have fun and enjoy one another.

His hobbies included car racing, riding his motorcycle and karate, where he earned a Second-Degree Black Belt. As a loving family man, Jeremiah enjoyed spending time with his family and socializing at family gatherings. He had a wonderful sense of humor and an easy-going spirit. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Jeremiah leaves to cherish loving memories his wife of thirty five years: Julia Arrington of Salisbury, MD; six children: Jeremiah (Gay) Arrington Jr., James aka Jamie Arrington, both of Salisbury, MD, Bonnie Arrington of Snellville, GA, Jeffrey (Trina) Arrington of Lithonia, GA, and Trinna (Jonathan) Thompson of Martinsburg, West VA, Heather Askins, and a stepson: Donnie Waters, both of Salisbury, MD; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; brother: Charles Arrington of Baltimore, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended relatives and friends.

Jeremiah was preceded in death by his parents: Carrie Arrington-Fletcher and Walter Brown; daughter: Teresa Arrington and granddaughter: Ashley Arrington.
