Jesse Harmon Obituary

A LIFE TO REMEMBER...

Jesse Lee Harmon, 58, the son of the late Hermione and Wilbert Harmon Sr, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 13, 2021, surrounded by family after battling an illness for a long time.

Jesse was given the nickname, “Fossil” which his friends and family would often call him. Jesse graduated from Snow Hill High in 1980. He played football and basketball; the two sports he loved most. Jesse held jobs at Tyson Foods in Berlin, Maryland and Phillip’s Crab House in Ocean City, Maryland. During one of his stays at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital, formerly named Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Jesse received his salvation.

Jesse loved eating chicken and dumplings and drinking Schweppes Ginger Ale sodas. He would always watch reruns of old shows from back in the day such as, Sanford and Son and Good Times. He would still get a laugh out of those shows no matter how many times he saw them. Jesse loved his sports and was a dedicated fan of the Dallas Cowboys. If you could get Jesse in a room with his brother, “Clip” (Wilbert Harmon) and his cousin, “Dawk” (Sylvester Bratten) watching a game, Jesse would certainly talk smack about how bad their teams were playing. If it were the other way around with the cowboys losing, Jesse would be as quiet as a mouse.

Jesse leaves to cherish fond memories, one son: Jordan Waters of Salisbury, Maryland; three sisters: Janice Bratten of Pocomoke, Maryland, Mona Davis and Ivy (Donnie) Ballard, all of Snow Hill, Maryland; three brothers: Walter Bratten, Wilbert Harmon Jr and Glen Harmon, all of Snow Hill, Maryland; and with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended relatives and friends. Jesse was especially close to one of his great nieces whom he called, “Leet” (Kelese Brittingham). They would talk all the time about many things.

Besides his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Jesse was a loving, kindhearted and gentle man, who enjoyed his life, and sharing his time with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.  He held a special space in our hearts.

Lovingly Submitted- The Family
