Larine Juanita Harper, 62, peacefully departed this earthly life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at Coastal Hospice in Salisbury, Maryland due to a terminal illness.
Born in Nassawadox, Virginia, she was the daughter of Edna Mae Harper and the late Joseph Harper Sr. Her late biological father was Ralph Ridley.
Larine was a 1976 graduate of Wicomico Senior High School. During her school years, she enjoyed field hockey and creative drawing. She continued her education and achieved her bachelor’s degree in Biology at Salisbury State University in 2008.
She worked at K & L Microwave as a Quality Assurance Inspector for about 8 years. She later moved to Baltimore, Maryland and began working in her profession as an Engineering Technician at Honeywell and KBR for about 16 years. She also is the administrator/creator of the “Sisters United in Love” Facebook page.
Larine was a woman of faith, endurance, and love. She accepted Christ at a very young age at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church and has been a worshipper ever since. She loved cooking, music, writing poems and learning about the Word of God. She loved yellow roses, the color pink, and had a hobby scrapbooking and collecting “temptation” dishes.
Due to an unexpected medical diagnosis, she moved back to Salisbury in 2018 to be closer to her family, while battling her health. She later became a member at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church in Salisbury, Maryland. She was active with “life groups” and bible study at the church. She had an abundance of peace and unwavering faith. Larine trusted God through every process even to the very end. She strengthened others around her, gave advice and counsel them even while going through her everyday challenges. We call her “A true Woman of Faith!” She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed!
She leaves to cherish loving memories an only daughter: Krystal (James “Jay”) Bratten Jr; two grandchildren: Janiya and Austin Bratten, all of New Castle, Delaware; her mother: Edna Harper of Salisbury, Maryland; five siblings: Josie (Byron) Battle Jr. of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, Joseph Harper Jr., and Rossia Ridley, both of Virginia, Rajputana Ridley; one niece: Nicole Harper of Laurel, Maryland, one nephew: Byron Battle III of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. a maternal aunt: Sarah Morris; a maternal uncle: Booker T (Carrie) Wynder; a paternal uncle: Ronald (Barbara) Ridley; and a host of extended relatives and friends.

God Will Prevail by Larine Harper
Why look so stressed and depressed
You give the enemy authority to defeat.
You give him power he has no rights.
Hold your head high and look blessed.
God Will Prevail
So, what your rent is due, so is mine.
Oh, you say you don't understand
What, that all the bills are due?
God has known from the beginning of time.
God Will Prevail
The battle has already been fought
We are the victors, tried and true
You can’t see because you gave Satan your power.
Come Holy Spirit breath on us, take the scales from our eyes let us
kneel as we were taught.
God Will Prevail
No more living as mere humans, we are transformed.
By the renewing of our minds.
We shall take it by force for God has ordained it.
You may see this body, but I tell you, God sees my glorified transformation.
God Will Prevail
We hold up the banner John 3:16
For God so loved the world, he loves us
Enough to sacrifice the Christ, our Mediator
Whosoever believes in him. Do you?
Shall not perish but have life forever.
God Will Prevail and so shall We!
