Lisa Stanford

Lisa Gay Stanford, the daughter of the late Vivian Gay Stanford, was born July 20, 1964, at Peninsula General Hospital. She entered into eternal rest on December 12, 2022, at Tidal Health.

Lisa received her formal education at James M. Bennett Public High School, where she joined the track team. Before her departure, she was pursuing her GED. Lisa worked for The Salisbury Times (Daily Times) in her younger years. She also volunteered at Kids Café, where her grandchildren, Emonie and James, attended. She received her baptism on September 8, 2019, at Parkway Church of God.

Lisa loved baked macaroni and cheese, reading, spending time, and coloring with her grandchildren. She also loved to write plays, in which she directed the family’s performance. Lisa also loved taking the neighborhood kids to the park and trick-or-treating.

Lisa leaves behind to mourn two daughters; Alicia Stanford, & Christian Stanford (Jacob Luther Jr.), all of Salisbury, Maryland; seven grandchildren, Emonie Stanford (which she raised with her longtime companion, Pernell Williams), James Morton III (York), Za’Rya Stanford, (whom she called Girlfriend), Alexzavior Stanford, Ja’Mea Luther, Jathan Luther, and Majesty-Lilith Stanford;  siblings, Karen (Jarome) Richardson, Denise (Gerald) Butler, Tony Stanford, Melissa (Michael) Cannon; three nephews, Andrew Stanford, Aaron Stanford, and Brandon Richardson; four nieces, Brittany Richardson, Alexis Butler, Brianna Watson, and Brooke Stanford; goddaughter; Sabre’ Kellam and godson; Kiont’e Taylor; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews (whom loved her dearly).

Lisa was preceded in death by her mother, Vivian Stanford, her longtime life companion, Pernell Williams, and grandparents, Alfred and Arlanta Showell.
