Marlene Yvette (Dashiell) Royal

Marlene Yvette (Muddy Putt) Royal, 68 died Sunday, February 25, 2018 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore following a lengthy illness.

Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Otis Strozier and Janet Dashiell Hayman.  She was also the stepdaughter of the late Willie Watkins.  Her late husband William Royal died in 1996.

She was a 1967 graduate of the former Salisbury High School and a member of their Alumni Association.

She retired after 30 years as the director of the Wicomico County Housing Authority.

She was a member of Mills Memorial Baptist Church in Salisbury.

Her survivors include one son, Allan (Ebony) Royal of Salisbury, MD; five grandchildren; one great grandson and one brother Derrick Everett of Smryna, DE.

A daughter: Yolanda Royal died in 1995.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at New Dimensions Family Ministries, 1907 Jersey Road in Salisbury where friends may view two hours prior to service.  Interment will be in Green Acres Memorial Park in Salisbury.
