Mollie Virginia Nairne Jones, affectionately known as “Little Mom” peacefully departed this earthly life on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at her residence under the care of Coastal Hospice. She was born to the late Brinnie (Blake) Nairne and Lloyd Nairne of Salisbury, MD on July 8, 1921.
Mollie was educated in the public school system in Wicomico County. She was a homemaker and worked in other capacities in Wicomico County.
Mollie was a member of St. Paul AME Zion Church, where she was an usher (Doorkeeper) for God. She was always on her post on her Sundays to usher the saints in. When she was not ushering, she sat on the pew enjoying the service. She was consistently in attendance until her health began to decline. However, the pastors and other members communicated with her weekly via phone calls and visits. The pastors were faithful in administering holy communion to her.
Little Mom lived a good life, and she was a warm, loving, and kindhearted woman, with a ready smile. She enjoyed shopping yet reading her bible and looking at religious shows on TV were two of her favorite activities. Old traditional gospel music was her preference. She thanked God for everything no matter what her situation or circumstances were. Little Mom was a prayer warrior and devotedly prayed for others.
Mollie leaves to cherish her legacy two sons: Clinton (Doris) Jones, Jr., and Glendon Jones, both of Salisbury, MD; daughter in law: Bridget Jones of Rock Hill, SC; eleven grandchildren: Nadine Jones, Michelle Jones and Antoine Jones Sr. of Salisbury, MD, Lynette Bell of Owings Mills, MD, Alexander Jones, Sr. of Delmar, MD, Ricky Jones of Salisbury, MD, Cardea Jones of Delmar, MD, Tarrin (Antoine) Jones of Salisbury, MD, Tavonne Jackson and Lester Young, Jr, both of Salisbury, MD., Kendall Jones of Rock Hill, SC; twenty great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren; three nieces: Brennet Waters of Snow Hill, MD, Delores Donohue and Mollie Russell, both of Salisbury, MD, and Violet Waters of Snow Hill, MD; a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins and friends.
Besides her parents: Brinnie Blake and Lloyd Nairne; her husband: Clinton Jones, Sr., a daughter: Carolyn Jones Young; a son: Rudolph Jones and a grandson: Clinton Jones III; two brothers: James and Leroy Nairne, and a sister: Elizabeth "Lizzie" Waters, all preceded her in death.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved His appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 (ESV)
