Thomas Edward Collins Sr.

Our beloved father, Thomas E. Collins Sr. 93, was born on February 7th, 1927, in Parsonsburg, Maryland, to John Henry Collins and Eva (Taylor) Collins. He peacefully departed this earthly life on Monday, September 21, 2020 at Tidal Health Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland.

He graduated from the former Worcester High School. One of Thomas' earlier employment was with the former Powell Motors Inc. in Salisbury, Maryland. After 27 years of employment, he retired from Worcester County Roads, in Maryland, on February 1, 1989. Subsequent to retirement, he worked many years for L. C. Jones' Farm.

Thomas Collins Sr. attended Taylor’s Gate Church in Snow Hill, Maryland, and later joined Friendship United Methodist Church, where he served on numerous ministries and was a Lay Speaker.

His hobbies included working on cars, playing baseball, watching baseball games, and westerns on the television.

Thomas and Helen Dale were joined in holy matrimony on April 3rd, 1946. From their union, the couple had seven children. He was affectionately known as Daddy, Pop, Pop-Pop, Granddad and Uncle Tom. As a hardworking family man, Thomas was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a warm, friendly, and understanding man, who loved the Lord, and lived his life serving God.

He leaves to cherish loving memories his three daughters: Margaret Collins of Salisbury, Maryland, Peggy Collins and Kathy Collins, both of Parsonsburg, Maryland; one son: Alfred Collins of Parsonsburg, Maryland; a grandson, whom he thought of like his own son: Russell Parker, of Pittsville, Maryland; 11 grandchildren; and a host of  great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended relatives, and friends. He will be deeply missed by all those who loved him dearly.

Thomas E. Collins Sr. was preceded in death by his parents: John Henry Collins and Eva (Taylor) Collins; wife: Helen B. Collins; sons: Thomas E. Collins Jr., Robert Collins Sr., John Collins; grandsons: Arnold Gene Fagans Jr. (AJ), and Reginald Collins; granddaughter: Tina Collins; brothers: James Collins, Chester Collins, Enoch Truitt, Graden Collins, and David Collins; sisters: Louise Hudson, Ellen Wise, and Grace Harmon.
