Our beloved Wayne transitioned into eternal rest on October 27, 2022, at Tidal Health, Salisbury, Maryland.
Wayne was born July 1, 1981, to Cleo Olivette Edwards and Wayne Lynn Lashley, Sr., in Salisbury, Maryland. Wayne was the eldest of seven siblings, Jonathan Edwards, Diamond Chaney, Sandrea Chaney, Kevon Chaney, Skye Tingle and one brother, Sheldon Lashley who preceded him in death.
Wayne was affectionately known by so many names such as Fatboy, Wheezie, Wayne O, “Jesus,” but more importantly “Dad.” His goofy, comical personality and that contagious smile will be missed and remembered by all. Wayne had such a protective nature as most of us know. He would stop whatever he was doing and be there for you. He thought he was everyone’s Dad. He will never be forgotten and will continue to live on through his daughters, Nyah Lashley, Bria Lashley, Ava Lashley and Jakala Stevens, whom he adored and raised as his own.
Wayne also leaves to mourn and will be greatly missed by his beautiful wife Tiffany Lashley and their Frenchie Bull Terrier “Dior,” his father, Wayne Lashley, Sr., mother, Cleo Olivette Edwards, stepmother, Cheryl Lashley, his stepsons, Michael Smith, Jamaal Christian and stepdaughter, Jamya Pittman, mother-in-law, Vanessa Frederick, and father-in-law, Vincent Payne, Sr., aunts, Sabrina Edwards Brown and Eartha Edwards, and his uncle, Edwin Lashley, Sr. and wife, Lisa. He also leaves to mourn a host of cousins, nieces and nephews as well as others that he held dear to his heart and loved dearly.
