Yeacha Lee Mitchell, 89, went home to be with his heavenly father on Friday, November 20, 2020 at his home in Salisbury, Maryland.
Yeacha Lee was born on July 2, 1931, in Blacksburg, South Carolina to Theodore Mitchell and Geneva Moore Mitchell. He was employed as a truck driver who spent his career traveling the East Coast. Lee moved to Salisbury in 1951 where he continued his career as a driver for numerous companies including Frank S. Parker Block company and Salisbury Brick Company.
He was a devoted member of Wesley Temple United Methodist Church in Salisbury. There he served with the United Methodist Men Group for over 20 years.
Yeacha Lee was united in holy matrimony to Martha Irene Chandler Mitchell for 36 years, who preceded him in death. He was a doting husband who served her as a protector, provider and caregiver. For nearly five years while she was in Wicomico Nursing Home, He made sure she was fed lunch and breakfast daily. He never missed a day.
His greatest pastime included Fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He leave to cherish his memories a daughter: Rita Kaye Ratchford, Shelby NC; a son: Lamont (Wanda) Mitchell of Salisbury, MD; six grandchildren: Briana Chandler of Owings Mills, MD, Kesha Collins, Britanie Chandler of Salisbury, MD, Jerry (Michaell) Ratchford of Stoney Point, NC, Nataja (JQ) Boykin, Charlene Ratchford, Shelby, NC; five sister-in-laws: Dr. Geri Mason, Rita Chandler, Jeanette Mitchell of Salisbury, MD, Karen Chandler Carden and Margie (Jack) Carrigan of Newport News, VA; one brother in-law: Columbus Roberson, Salisbury, MD and twenty great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; eight nieces; five nephews and a host of other extended relatives and friends.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son: Bruce A. Chandler; two grandsons: Lamont Mitchell Jr and Terry Rachford; five sisters: Dorrie Beattie, Morrie Cooper, Kaweze Walker, Princess Wilson, Olliminser Mitchell; and three brothers: Nathaniel, Albert, and Thomas Mitchell; a favorite nephew: William (Willie) Wilson.
