Robert Harold Levin Fields

Allen – Robert (Bobby) Harold Levin Fields, 78 died Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at PRMC in Salisbury, MD.

Born in Allen, MD, he was the biological son of the late Marguerite Dennis and Oliver Stanford.  He was adopted and reared by his aunt and uncle, Robert (Ben) and Amelia Fields.

Bobby was a 1956 graduate of the former Salisbury High School.  Upon graduation, he matriculated at New York Institute of Technology, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Photography.  He did further studies at Michigan State University and the University of Delaware.

He was employed for 44 years at the Peninsula General Hospital, now Peninsula Regional Medical Center, where he had been the General Manager of Environmental Services, personnel assistant and retired as the Dark Room Specialist in Radiology. He was also employed for over thirty years with Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury as an attendant and with Beth-Israel Synagogue in their housekeeping department.

He was a lifelong member of Friendship United Methodist Church in Allen, where he served as head of the Administrative Council and president of the Usher Board.  He also formerly served as vice-president of the Friendship Community Choir, member of the Pastor Parish Relations Committee, and several other organizations within the church.  He is the founder and president of the Delmarva Usher’s Association, consisting of 400 members (of all denomination) across the Delmarva Peninsula.

His community and civic involvement included, member of the Salisbury High School Association, former vice-president and president of the Wicomico Health Planning Council, former member Shore-Up Advisory Board, former vice-president of the National Housekeepers Executive Assoc., D.C. Chapter; former member of an R.V. Camping Club and former member of Lamech Lodge #30, F&AM, P.H.A. in Salisbury.

His survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary Carr Fields of Allen; one daughter Corliss Carr of Higginsville, MO, one granddaughter: Chavonda Carr of Allen, two sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, July 16, 2016 at New Dimensions Family Ministries, 1907 Jersey Road, Salisbury, where friends may call Friday from 6-8 pm and on Saturday, one hour prior to service.  Interment will be in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron, MD.
