Steven Johnson, Jr.

Salisbury – Steven Johnson, Jr. of here, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

 Born in Hazelhurst, MS, he was the son of the late Stephen, Sr. and Doretha (Barden) Johnson.  His late wife Grace Johnson died June 9, 2004.

 He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country for 23 years, retiring October 1993, with an honorable discharge.

 He was employed for eighteen years with the former Coldwater Seafood in Cambridge, MD, retiring in 2001.

 He was a member of Mt. Enoch Holy Church in Salisbury, MD.

 His survivors include one daughter: Vanessa Townsend; two granddaughters: Dionne and Stacey Townsend; four great grandchildren: Joshua White, Caleb Fountain, Amira and Jayden Bratten, all of Salisbury, MD; five siblings: Floylee (Larry) Guynes, Perrine Handy, Beulah Grant, Thomas Fred (Patricia) and Howard Johnson; two sisters-in-law: Margaret Sessoms and Betty Johnson and a host of nieces and nephews.

 Three brothers preceded him in death.

 A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Mt. Enoch Holy Church where friends may view, one hour to service.  Entombment will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 7, 2016 at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.
